A good art competition unlocks and supports the artistic potential of students. The aim of this drawing competition is to celebrate Earth Day 2018 under the Focal Theme: “Go Green – Go Clean Painting Competition to Celebrate Earth Day 2018” and to engage children in creative exercise to identify their hopes and dreams of the future. It allows complete self-expression and supports their creativity and innovative ideas expressed through their painting. Art and design stimulates creativity and imagination. It provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences and a special way of understanding and responding to the world. It enables children to communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials and processes. Children become involved in shaping their thought on Earth Day 2018 and environments through art and design activities. They learn to make judgments and take practical decisions. They explore ideas and meanings through the work of artists and designers. Through this drawing and painting competition students can learn about the significance of celebration of Earth Day 2018. They can explore the impact of Earth Day on contemporary life of different times and cultures. The appreciation and enjoyment of the drawing and painting must enrich our lives.
The aims and objectives of this drawing competition are:
1)To develop public awareness on Earth Day 2018 and various activities of the HPCL and to create an interest in contemporary art in young people and enable them, through : “Go Green – Go Clean Painting Competition to Celebrate Earth Day 2018” theme, to feel and get a better perception of the diversity of the World Earth Day 2018.
2)To develop creativity and imagination through painting activities
3)To improve the children’s ability to control materials, tools and techniques.
4)To increase their critical awareness about the roles and purposes of painting and design in celebrating the Earth Day 2018.
5)To develop increasing confidence in children artist through painting.
6)To foster an enjoyment and appreciation of working, learning and growing together
7)To offer the children artists a platform to reach all kinds of audiences and foster exchanges and networking with cultural players.
8)To bring them together through art work to reflect and observe the importance of Earth day and its challenges.
This is a platform for the young children to exchange views, share knowledge, expertise and experiences in the latest developments across the broad and diverse fields of Earth Day 2018 and they will be benefited in many different ways as illustrated below:
1)Painting has many benefits, and it is both constructive and enjoyable. It is fun and boosts their confidence when their artwork is appreciated. Painting also encourages kids to interact and communicate with the other which help to develop their social skills.
2)Participating in painting competitions enhances learning and improves performance and keep children’s mind & brain active and helps them learn to take criticism positively, thus making them capable of dealing with challenges in real life.
